Coverage
How much to cover
High-impact areas
Front bumper, the leading edge of the hood and fenders, and mirrors. The spots that take the most rock chips.
The whole front end
Full bumper, full hood, full fenders and mirrors, with no visible line across the hood. The Range Rover below.
Every painted panel
The whole car, for maximum protection or to change gloss paint to satin.
The honest version
What PPF actually does (and doesn't)
It does
- Absorb rock chips and road rash
- Resist light scratches and bug etching
- Keep the factory paint under it untouched
- Pair with a ceramic coating for easy washing
It doesn't
- Stop every impact: big rocks and collisions still win
- Fix chips that are already there
- Change the color (that's a wrap)
- Replace washing
Straight talk
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit
- New cars, especially dark or satin paint
- Lots of highway miles on I-75
- Sports cars and trucks with low, wide front ends
Probably skip it
- The paint already has heavy chips: fix or correct first
- You mostly want gloss and easy washing: ceramic coating may be enough
Featured project
Front-end PPF, Range Rover
Protection film on the front end of a satin black Range Rover: bumper, hood and fenders, the areas that catch rock chips and lovebugs.

The job
- Prep. Washed and decontaminated so nothing gets trapped under the film.
- Install. Film laid wet over the bumper, hood and fenders, then squeegeed and trimmed.
- Result. The front end is protected and the factory look is kept.

FAQ
Common questions
What does PPF protect against?
Rock chips, road rash, light scratches and bug etching on the areas that face the road. It's a clear (or satin) urethane film, much thicker than a coating.
How much does PPF cost?
It depends on the vehicle and the coverage: a partial front, a full front or the whole car. PPF isn't on our published price list, so get a quote or text the year, make and model to (941) 929-6771.
PPF vs ceramic coating: which do I need?
They do different jobs. PPF physically absorbs rock chips; ceramic adds gloss, UV and chemical resistance and makes washing easy. A common setup is PPF on the front end and ceramic coating over the whole car, film included.
Will PPF change how my car looks?
Gloss PPF keeps the factory look and adds depth. Satin PPF turns gloss paint satin. Once installed, the film is very hard to spot.
Can you put PPF on a wrapped car?
Yes. On the Porsche 911 we wrapped, PPF went on the roof and rear spoiler over the satin wrap. See vinyl wraps.
Do you take panels off?
When it gives a cleaner result, yes. Bumpers, lights and trim can come off so the film wraps the edges.
Do you install PPF for Sarasota, North Port and Englewood drivers?
Yes. PPF is installed in our Venice shop (Bays 95 & 96, 257 Seaboard Ave, Venice FL 34285). Open Saturdays, 9am–2pm or by appointment.
